The Classic Hit Combo™
Thank you for checking out the 'Classic Hit Combo'™ on GUS.FM™. If you've enjoyed the hits over the decades, no doubt, variables have been thrown your way due to changing trends, lifestyle or open-mindedness to different styles. What most of us call "life".
Media evolve, expand and change. Relationships come and go. But there is always one constant, it's how all the hit music you've heard and enjoyed still makes you feel, especially if a tune you haven't heard in a very long time has a special connection. It's the touchstone of our lives and transports us back to the classic, simpler days, good and/or bad.
So instead of punching the button from one station to another for the greatest hits of ROCK, BLUES, COUNTRY, CHRISTIAN & LEGENDS... how about we reign it all in, tie it together in a special package and call it uniquely, 'The Classic Hit Combo'.™ Enjoy your time here. Share and sync often!

ATTENTION: Be it known that any artist on our GUS.FM station playlist that publicly celebrates the death of any individual, for whatever reason, will have their material immediately removed on all Echo Hill Media platforms and their names posted and blacklisted on the station website. This station pays royalties and accounts for every song played. In effect, they work for the pleasure of our audience, clients and programming integrity, not the other way around. Any celebration of this kind infringes on our decent human values and will not be tolerated.

In Regards to the Newsboys and dc Talk on Our Playlist
From the beginning, Contemporary Christian Music has been included along side the secular blend that makes up the Classic Hit Combo. This is a unique approach, as I have yet to find anyone else that offers the same. I made this happen for only one primary reason; giving God the glory. If hearing a CCM hit blesses the listener, that is a worthwhile result and fulfills a purpose of salvation and life-change. If it turns some off, that's their prerogative. However, there is a substantial audience that enjoys this blend and we are thrilled to deliver it. As owner-operator of GUS.FM, I try to keep an open mind, all the while maintaining a high standard for the audience and advertisers alike and look forward to keeping this running for as long as I can.
Recently, the Christian music world has been rocked to it's core by the revelation and confession from Newsboys member, Michael Tait of decades involving his sexual assault to others, including minors. Scenarios continue to unfold daily now, as those who have been affected are stepping forward to claim they have been assaulted by Tait and claims that members of the Newsboys were aware of instances and covered them up.
Almost immediately, some Christian music stations began dropping the Newsboys and dc Talk (Tait's previous group) from their playlists. Concert venues cancelled upcoming appearances and this week, their record label Capitol Christian Group dropped them.
I have been a Newsboys and dc Talk fan from the beginning. Songs like "God's Not Dead" "I Am Free" and "He Reigns" have been personal, up-lifting, meaningful standards as well as for others. Not to mention that they have sounded powerful and awesome on my station. Once this event unfolded, I tried not to have a knee-jerk reaction to throw these guys under the bus and disseminate the facts the best I could. Because the gravity to make a decision on my own was heavy and as it should be, I turned to prayer and guidance regarding this delicate matter.
This morning, I made that difficult decision to suspend the Newsboys and dc Talk from the GUS.FM playlist. I followed through on how I believed the Lord spoke to me and the fact that Michael Tait has freely confessed, so I wasn't shadowed with any doubt that these events occurred. If this were going through litigation, any fair decision would not be made until a final verdict. This was a business decision as well. Performance royalties are paid to the artists. I view that as contractors for hire, working representatives at the pleasure of audiences, clients and management. It would be no different at your workplace either, I'm sure. I have made decisions about other artists in the past, provided their was undeniable proof of wrongdoing.
The pain and devastation for those that live and work closely and those that have staked their trust and fortunes in faith with the Newsboys must be unimaginable. I pray for them. I pray for the Newsboys. I pray for victims of Michael Tait. And with forgiveness, I pray for Michael Tait.
